Cardspike poker – A failure

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009

There are hundreds of different poker sites, but not many that accept players from the usa.

When cardspike launched in september 2008 it was great news because there was a new poker site to play at for players from the usa. Cardspike joined the cake poker network and it seemed like they had alot of new and exiting features to the software.

However i dident take long before the problems started.

There were problems with players not getting paid and the different poker websites started to blacklist cardspike.

Instead of repeating what other webmasters have already written, i will post a list of interesting articles about the cardspike scandal.

The most important is that i strongly advise you not to play at this site. However, this has nothing to do about the cake poker network that cardspike is running on. Cakepoker is a solid reliable site, and cardspike has bought a licence to use their software and share the player database. Cake poker is working on resolving the problem, and most likely it wont be long before this corrupted site will be shut down.

Cake poker is a reliable and good poker site, and if you havent tried their software is a good option for players from usa. Click here to visit cake poker

Ultimate Bet Aruba Classic Goes to Matt Brady

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Everyone who plays at Ultimate Bet has definitely heard about the Aruba Poker Classic well before it got underway, Matt Brady took home the championship.
The Aruba Poker Classic was one of the biggest live tournaments advertised by Ultimate Bet and they did a great job.

Matt Brady has quickly proven himself as one of the best poker tournament players of late and he’s been making quite the name for himself.
Before the Aruba Poker Classic Brady had been up roughly 750,000 all-time from poker tournaments and he’d never won a major tournament.
When the Aruba Classic Poker final table was beginning Brady was in second place, but managed to lose most of his chips.
He dealt with a short stack in the final table, but managed to pull away with the one million dollar grand prize.

Final Table Chip Starting Stacks

Johan Storakers – 2,027,000

Matt Brady – 1,776,000

Brandon Terry – 1,211,000

Jeff Papola – 1,163,000

Allie Prescott – 770,000

Jason Pohl – 685,000

Brian Malczewski – 366,000

The action was fierce was at the final table and the players we’re busy looking to double-up their stacks.
There we’re plenty of all-in bets and that was sort of expected due to the players being online players usually.
The online players are a lot more loose then any other poker players out there and therefore when online players meet live it makes for an excellent high action table.
The players we’re knocked out as followed.

Jason Pohl eliminated in 7th place

Brian Malczewski eliminated in 6th place

Brandon Terry eliminated in 5th place

Allie Prescott eliminated in 4th place

Jeff Papola eliminated in 3rd place

It was now down to the final two players and the chip stacks we’re as followed.

Johan Storakers – 1,600,000

Matt Brady – 6,100,000

Matt Brady has a commanding lead when it was down to heads-up play and he didn’t look back from there. Brady managed to win the Aruba Poker Classic with a full house and took home first place and one million dollars. This tournament was heavily marketed in the Ultimate Bet poker room and many freerolls offered seats into this tournament. It shows that the freeroll aspect of poker is alive and doing great. There are so many opportunities for poker players to win big money in freeroll tournaments or seats into big tournaments from freerolls that it’s not even funny anymore. There are always high prize pool tournaments nowadays and you should try getting into them by entering freerolls in your favourite poker room.
